CLARENCE S. STEIN LECTURE SERIES AT CORNELL
On Tuesday of next week, September 9, we will launch the inaugural Clarence S. Stein Lecture Series in the College of Architecture, Art and Planning.
The series, underwritten by the Clarence Stein Institute for Urban and Landscape Studies at Cornell, will bring to campus an extraordinary group of urbanists and practitioners who are changing the way we think about and understand places, landscape and the urban built environment. Their work is of relevance to all allied placemaking and design professionals, and we created this series specifically to appeal to students and faculty across our various disciplinary and departmental boundaries. Please let your students, especially, know about the series and encourage them to attend. All lectures will take place on Tuesdays in Milstein Auditorium at Cornell University and begin at 5PM. A poster is attached and full schedule of speakers appended below.
Parking on campus is free after 5PM, with some exceptions (check signs carefully). Google Map directions from Varsity Pizza (my old hangout) to Milstein/AAP parking lot is here:

Our first speaker is Ellen Dunham-Jones, Professor of Architecture and Urban Design at the Georgia Tech School of Architecture. She will be speaking on Retrofitting Suburbs for 21st Century Challenges.
